While there is significantly less maintenance with ArtTurf than with natural grass and competing artificial grass and synthetic turf systems, some tasks are necessary to ensure your artificial turf continues to perform at the highest level.

There are 4 basic maintenance operations that all ArtTurf artificial turf fields require according to our recommended maintenance schedule. We simply call them Brushing, Aerating, Raking and Sweeping.

ArtTurf Artifical Sports Field Maintenance
1.Brushing – Rejuvenates the matted fibers and levels the top portion of the infill.
2.Aerating – Minimizes risk of slight compaction, by penetrating and loosening the infill with rotating tines.
3.Raking – Prevents fibers from matting down and ensures infill is loosened.
4.Sweeping – Ensures debris doesn’t get into the infill.

Other necessary maintenance procedures should be done periodically and according to ArtTurf’s maintenance guidelines.
Inspection of line markings and seams – In the unlikely event that line markings or seams come apart, then you need to repair them as soon as possible.
Infill topdressing – For high traffic areas, rubber may need to be added to the top layer of infill.
Snow Removal – Snow must be removed according to field-friendly guidelines.

There are several significant reasons to use artificial grass for soccer field, football pitch including futsal field(five a side football) and seven a side football field

1.Resistance to difficult climatic conditions

Many regions of the world suffer from extreme climatic conditions and as a result are often without adequate natural grass pitches. Either the climate makes the growth and maintenance of such fields a burden or the financial resources are limited. Furthermore, the demand on these pitches is quite high and the resulting mix often leaves the pitches in poor condition. The advantage of artificial turf in these regions is more than evident.

2.Ideal for covered or steep-sided stadia

Stadium construction is often influenced by the need to adjust designs for the installation of natural grass for international football. Natural grass needs sufficient sunlight, wind and rain to grow and thrive. However, the trend towards building steep-sided stadia with roofs and terraces for additional spectator comfort creates an environment better suited to football turf. The newest generation of artificial surfaces combines the advantages of playing characteristics similar to natural turf, including player comfort and safety, with independence from sunlight, wind and rain.

3.Low maintenance costs

The new generation of artificial surfaces is easier to maintain than natural grass fields. Artificial it may be, but it cannot just be installed and left to its own devices. The groundsman, whose day-to-day job will change and who will have to learn a whole new set of maintenance techniques, is one of the main beneficiaries of an artificial surface. The time for maintenance is much lower and thus costs for a football turf field can be significantly reduced.

4.Longer playing hours

Most of the football turf fields are owned by municipalities and football clubs who recognize that an artificial pitch can be used almost 24 hours a day and seven days a week since it does not need time to recover. Due to the increased longevity, fewer playing fields are required.

5.Multi-usage

Today, the financial situation has become one of the most important components of any football club. In order to cover the increasing costs, additional revenue streams are necessary. The newest generation of artificial surfaces with playing characteristics similar to natural turf, low maintenance, longer playing hours and the multi-usage possibilities meets the demands of a modern football field. It can be used almost 24 hours a day and seven days a week. In addition to training sessions and matches of various teams, it can be hired out to companies and municipalities for all kind of events.

6.Improved and consistent playing conditions

As the game’s global popularity increases, the climate plays a greater part in limiting its development. In adverse weather conditions, the use of natural grass pitches is limited and the performance suffers. Manufacturers have now developed football turf products that mirror the playing characteristics of real grass and are resistant to difficult climates. People have recognized that all year round and improved and consistent playing conditions worldwide bring enormous benefits to the global development of football.

EaseCourt offers several available colors that can be mixed and matched. We can also provide any custom color of your choice.

2. If a tile becomes damaged, how difficult is it to replace?

Needs analysis
When developing their business plan a club should consider the potential conflict between maintaining acceptable performance (as defined by the FAI) and deteriorating performance through high use.

It is suggested that clubs negotiate suitable longevity and performance warranties from the artificial grass surfacing system’s supplier to ensure that the pitch will last in line with the Club’s business plan and intended usage levels. A sinking fund should be established also to ensure sufficient funds are available when the surface needs replacing. Clubs are also encouraged to understand the full levels of maintenance required by the surface, which will be necessary to validate any warranty.

Feasibility study
When considering the installation of an artificial grass pitch it is recommended that a feasibility study should be undertaken to identify what you really want to achieve from your pitch; this decision process is a fundamental element in the success of the future pitch and should be carried out together with your specialist consultant. You should challenge yourself to think about the future of your organization and ensure that you, and your colleagues, share a common vision. Depending on the level of external funding, you may be required by the key funding agency, to have the feasibility study undertaken by an independent body.

At this stage you should ask yourself;
• What are the priorities from your football development plan? Will training be the main use or will you be looking to stage matches on the pitch too?
• Will any other organization or club be a partner in the venture?
• What are the demands for the artificial grass pitch in your area?
• What will your hiring fee structure be across the various times the facility will be open?
• Can the proposed hiring fees be afforded by the local community and will this provide sufficiently towards your sinking fund?
• Have you taken advice from the FAI?
• What surface is most suitable for your clubs anticipated usage requirements?
• What similar facilities in the local area can you visit, gather information from and accordingly note what potential mistakes can be avoided in your project?
• Are you able to commit to the maintenance requirements of the surface? The maintenance of the artificial grass surface is of vital importance if the pitch is to retain acceptable performance and be long lasting. It is therefore essential that this vital aspect of the pitch’s management is not over looked.

Whenever you go shopping for anything, it helps to be as informed as possible. This is definitely true when it comes to shopping for artificial grass, since many different things can affect the price of artificial grass price. Do you know why artificial grass costs what it does? You can learn more about it below.

Know Your Options:

There are many options when it comes to artificial grass. No matter what size of area you want to install, your wishes should be accommodated with ease. Don’t let a contractor tell you that you have to pay extra without confirming that fact first. It’s all too easy to end up spending a lot more for things that you don’t need.

Understand the Artificial Turf Lawn Product:

Artificial grass comes in a wide range of styles, textures and configurations. Do your research about what is available out there. Understanding the differences in the different types of artificial grass can make it easier to understand the cost. Better still, you will know a good deal when you see one – and be able to justify spending more on higher-quality grass.

Learn About Roll Size:

Remember to always pay attention to roll size when looking at pricing for artificial grass. Try to know exactly the size of the area you are going to be working on, and take care to have preparations ready for calculating the number of rolls of the product you eventually choose that you will need. Ask about roll widths as they can vary, choose the configuration of widths to minimize waste of your artificial grass.

Generally speaking, for one roll, we make 4 meters width and length as your request.

Know What Affects Cost:

Be sure to read the fine print. Lower artificial grass prices often mean lower quality or the need for additional materials such as rubber infill. This is a false economy as topping up with rubber granules on low cost turf means added cost. It is far better to buy on Quality rather than price. Take into account things like artificial turf lawn yarn quality, UV protection, surface styling, backing materials, stitch count and even warranties. Know what best suits your needs, and be willing to sift through the details.

The Cost of Artificial Grass – Beyond the Grass Itself:
When you choose to acquire the services of someone else to do the installation of the artificial grass for you, coming out and laying a roll of grass is not the only task the will be doing. A lot of preparation is involved in successfully installing artificial grass. Things like infill, seaming tapes, soil-stabilising fabrics, barriers, base materials, glues and surface materials all come into play. Remember that if you do it yourself, you’re going to have to buy all of those things, too.

Artificial turf lawn is also known as waterless grass because it is produced from a plastic which is thought to be eco-friendly. There is less maintenance and there is no watering. As anyone with a green front yard knows, keeping a healthy lawn means lots of watering. In many areas, though, there is a shortage of water, and artificial turf lawn is easily the top choice in alternatives to natural grass.

Not having to add any kind of fertilizers is the best part. Adding manures is a very hard job and is also told to be bad for the environment when it rains. Rain makes the fertilizers and it’s bad particles travel into or close by waters like rivers, ponds etc’ and this will eventually lead to them becoming contaminated.

It is obvious that there are numerous advantages to installing artificial turf lawn (otherwise known as synthetic grass). If you put down artificial turf lawn, the air around your home will become significantly less polluted. Also, with a synthetic lawn, you never have to be concerned about mowing the grass.

Studies done by the Environmental Protection Agency have shown that one hour of using your gas powered lawn mower is equivalent to driving your car for a hundred miles. The best way to avoid this is through the use of artificial turf lawn, which not only cuts down on this pollution, but also on the maintenance of your lawn in general.

Some university scientists have recently indicated that the odor causing compounds found in new mowed grass can actually have an environmentally damaging effect. Australian botanists have studied this occurrence and have reported that when you mow the grass of your lawn, it releases hydrocarbons into the atmosphere. They say that this worsens even an already terrible case of smog.

Therefore, it is long overdue that people start confirming pollution levels before using a lawn mower. None of the aforementioned concerns arise with the use of artificial turf lawn. You will notice that your entire house and its surroundings are now environmentally friendly. If you thought installing artificial turf lawn was tedious and difficult, you will be surprised. The grass can be installed on any solid surface with no problems.

Artificial turf lawn is also called waterless grass since they are produced from plastic which is believed to be eco friendly. They need less maintenance and no watering. There is scarcity of water in many places and it is the best alternative to natural grass. There are many benefits to installing it or synthetic grass.

Property managers, homeowners, commercial building owners, and institutions can save money and cut their budgets by installing art turf artificial turf lawn instead of water-thirsty grass. The idea is not new, but is gaining more traction as owners and stakeholders seek to cut costs in a tightening economy.

The concept is simple. If you replace real grass lawns, which require a stunning amount of water and upkeep each week, with real-looking artificial turf lawn that require almost none, the return on investment can be substantial. Monthly costs are cut on two fronts. Artificial turf lawn requires less irrigation water, which can be expensive, especially in arid climates. Additionally, lawn maintenance is significantly lower with artificial turf lawn, especially for institutions with large grounds.

Is the cost worthwhile? In many cases, the cost of materials and installation can be last within a couple of years. With interest rates as low as they are currently, if a project is financed, the monthly cost of the artificial turf lawn installation can be significantly lower than the monthly cost of the water and maintenance services that are no longer necessary. This can save the average homeowner upwards of twenty dollars per month. Where larger savings become attainable is with larger properties, such as churches, schools, and commercial buildings. For properties with larger areas of lawn, an artificial turf solution can lead to a savings of hundreds of dollars per month.

There may also be tax savings one can pick up from installing artificial turf lawn. In some cases, local governments even offer incentives for artificial turf lawn to offset some of the initial cost of installation. In all cases, however, property owners should immediately realize lower costs for irrigation water and landscape maintenance. For rental property, that may make the difference between a positive and negative cash flow.

When artificial turf lawn was invented in the mid 1960’s, the artificial turf lawn company was also born. The artificial turf lawn company was solely dedicated to the design and production of special artificial turf lawn products that were made exclusively for sports fields. As the demand for more and more artificial turf lawn fields grew, naturally more competition was created and new artificial turf lawn companies sprung up world- wide.

Originally, there was only one type of artificial turf lawn – produced by the typical artificial turf lawn company – that was made with a nylon fiber. This surface didn’t drain well as it needed a large crown and drained off the surface, instead of through it. This product dominated the industry for many years and the strength and size of a few manufacturers made it very difficult for new players to enter the market. But, due to injuries, weather related usage issues, maintenance factors, cost, and new technology, things started to change and these issues allowed room for a new kind of artificial turf company to break into the market.

The second generation of artificial turf lawn was introduced in the 1970’s and was made with a polypropylene fiber and used sand as an infill. This Tennis Turf surface was primarily used for tennis courts, bocce, and lawn bowling. This product, although not a tournament caliber surface, was excellent for resurfacing cracked asphalt or concrete surfaces. It made for an excellent installation on tennis courts located at public parks, condominiums and apartment complexes. In other words, it was perfect for recreational play. It always looked good, was fairly soft under the feet, and bridged over the cracks in an existing all weather court surface, creating a monolithic surface. Commercial customers loved this because they needed to offer tennis courts as an amenity at their complexes but didn’t want to constantly spend money on upkeep and maintenance to keep the facility looking nice. Soon afterwards, more than one artificial turf lawn company tried to market this surface for football and soccer. Unfortunately, it didn’t work and was a complete failure. The product fiber and abrasive sand infill were too hard and painful to land or slide on. A new alternative was quite obviously needed by an artificial turf company if artificial turf lawn was to be successful for multiple usages. Some artificial turf lawn companies tried adding rubber to the infill mix but, although is offered a somewhat softer surface, it was still too hard and way too abrasive because both the polypropylene fiber and sand infill were just too abrasive. It was back to the drawing board for the designers and owners of many an artificial turf company.

Artificial sport surfaces, for team outdoor sports, are growing in number in many sports including soccer (association football), rugby, hockey, and football. The science of their behaviour has, it is argued, been under-researched in comparison to the development of artificial turf lawn products and also the development of many of the sports with respect to athleticism and advances in equipment such as footwear. This paper reviews artificial turf lawn design requirements and behavioural aspects to develop the science, and draws from a range of up-to-date literature to identify the key principles of behavior and gaps in knowledge. The relationship between the material types used in the substrate support and surface system (comprising some form of shockpad and artificial turf lawn, the artificial turf infilled or unfilled) behaviour is demonstrated in regard to the key performance factors of player–surface interaction – for both impact and traction. The data demonstrate the relatively complex behaviour of surface systems, and highlight the pitfalls of current simple mechanical tests in relation to human loading. Degradation and the role of maintenance to sustain long-term performance are issues also highlighted and discussed. Surface safety is discussed through a short review of studies related to injury risk, albeit most were associated with the contrast between natural turf and artificial turf lawn; however, there is clearly more research required in injury surveillance to include aspects of objective surface measurement. This paper additionally provides the reader with a state-of-the-knowledge review of where current thinking is now, and where future research is considered to be of merit, in developing sport surface science.
